Official military records show that Ronnie committed suicide whille serving his country during the Vietnam War. So sad. My prayers go out to Ronnie's family.

The last time I saw Ronnie was at Lifeguard Station # 3. at Huntington Beach. I am pretty sure Jim Samuels was there, and probably Dick Bergo and Craig Ashcroft, and a couple of others. Anyway, it was the end of another great day at the beach ( weren’t they all back then ? ), and we were all standing around Ronnie and wishing him well as he had been drafted and was reporting in the next few days to the Army.   With the Vietnam war going full tilt you would think Ronnie would have appeared apprehensive, instead he was his usual quiet self but as always quick with a smile. With no drama and good cheer we said our goodbyes. Now, years later, I have probably visited the Vietnam War Memorial in DC, at least, 5 times and I have always found Ronnie’s name on the Wall and said my goodbyes again. With this being the Memorial Day weekend, it is a good time to think about Ronnie again, and wish him peace.

I don't know why there is a need to let classmates know the circumstances of Ronnie Kerrs death. I don't think 50 years later, he would appreciate that being dicussed again. He fought for this country that's all that needs to be said.
